Zoning map amendments
For information on zoning permits, please contact Matt Wallingford, who is the administrative officer of the Board of Adjustments, and Architectural Review. Dimensional variances, sign variances, and conditional use applications all must go in front of the Board of Adjustments. Certificates of Appropriateness, which must be applied for when doing construction, demolition, alterations, relocation, or changes to the exterior of a building or landmark in a historical district, must go in front of the Board of Architectural Review. Ordinary repairs and maintenance to a building or landmark in a historical district, such as re-painting, do not have to go in front of the Board.
Matt Wallingford is also the Administrative Officer of the Mason County Joint Planning Commission. This commission is an eight-member body, with four members appointed by the Mayor of Maysville and four members appointed by the Mason County Judge Executive. The commission’s responsibilities as provided for in Kentucky Revised Statute chapter 100 are as follows:
Preparation of the Comprehensive Plan
Review and revisions to the Comprehensive Plan
Review and action upon all applications for the subdivision of land
Review and make recommendations to the appropriate governmental body on all
Applications for amendments to the land use regulations and official land use map, and
File certificates of land use restrictions

ALL MEETINGS ARE CONDUCTED AT THE CITY OF MAYSVILLE MUNICIPAL BUILDING AND START PROMPTLY AT 5:30 PM.
Those wanting to be on the agenda must have all applications, plans, plats, and/or materials to the Planning & Zoning Administrator NO less than two weeks before the meeting.
